Couch Critic
Netflix killed comments. We brought them back.
Our Take
Netflix axed comments in 2018 and never replaced them, so Couch Critic swooped in with a Chrome extension that drops a real-time social layer right on top of your player. The timestamp comments are genuinely useful — you can mark a scene and everyone else jumps straight to it, which solves the problem of your friend saying "wait, what just happened?" three times an episode. There's an AI moderation filter keeping things from getting too toxic, which is low-key essential when strangers are arguing about whether a character deserved their arc. The presence indicator showing who's watching the same thing at the same time is a little creepy but also kind of exciting, and the free tier gives you three comments a day to test if this actually makes your watch parties better or just noisier. With 65 points and only 31 followers on Product Hunt, this is still early — the traction is signal, not noise yet, but the itch it's scratching is real.
A Chrome extension that adds real-time comments, reactions, and ratings to Netflix and Prime Video. Users can see who's watching, discuss scenes with timestamps, mark spoilers, and rate shows without leaving the player.
