Our Take
Nginx UI is a web-based admin dashboard that makes managing Nginx servers actually usable instead of via command line config files. Developed by developer 0xJackyu and hosted on GitHub, it gives you a GUI to handle server configs, SSL certificates, reverse proxies—the whole nine yards.
But here's the problem: researchers discovered a critical vulnerability, CVE-2026-27944, that exposed backup encryption keys. This is bad. Like, really bad. Backup encryption keys are supposed to be the last line of defense for your data—if someone gets those, they can decrypt everything. The vulnerability has since been patched, but it highlights a brutal truth about open-source security tools: nobody's auditing this code until something explodes.
