PhoneGuide App
Self-Guided Audio Walking Tours & Offline Maps

Our Take
Oleksandr Shemyakin looked at the travel industry and noticed something: people still pay $25 for guided walking tours where you're stuck following a stranger with a megaphone. So he built PhoneGuide App, a mobile app that gives you GPS-guided audio tours you can take entirely on your own schedule—no groups, no schedules, no pressure.
Here's what makes it actually useful: you download a tour to your phone and it works completely offline. That means no roaming fees, no signal problems, no "sorry, we lost the group" moments. The app has offline maps, GPS navigation that tracks your position, and audio narration that auto-plays at each stop. You walk at your own pace, pause when you want a coffee, and pick up exactly where you left off. Available on iOS and Android.
Travel audio is a massive market—Viator, GetYourGuide, and Airbnb Experiences are worth billions combined—but they're all focused on booked experiences with guides. PhoneGuide App is going after something different: the solo traveler who wants the depth of a guided tour without the commitment. It's still in open beta and just launched in 2025 out of Kraków, Poland. If you're a developer or a travel content creator, this is early enough to shape where it goes.
Provides self-guided audio walking tours and offline maps for travelers to explore cities at their own pace.
