Three Shopify engineers — Manal Essalek, Naim Azoutar, and Rohan Chaubey — just released Tophat, a dev tool that runs mobile CI builds on any device without forcing you to sit through a local build first. No more staring at Gradle chugging through the same compile dance on your laptop while your team waits for CI to finish. Mobile devs have been dreaming of this one. It’s open source, it’s free, and honestly, every mobile team that touches CI should be using this yesterday.
