Our Take
WhoAmILookingFor is exactly what it sounds like—a tool that helps you find the right person in your LinkedIn network without the creepy part. You export your connections as a CSV from LinkedIn, upload it once, and then search locally. Everything stays on your machine. No data goes to any server. It's privacy-first by design, and honestly, in a world where every startup wants your data, this feels almost radical.
It uses a combo of BM25 (the old school text search) + embeddings + an in-browser SmolLM2 agent that rewrites your query to find better matches. So when you type "Who knows fintech partnerships in London?" it actually understands what you're asking and surfaces the right people. LinkedIn's native search is basically useless for this. This actually works.
It's non-commercial and built for fun—which is honestly refreshing. No pitch deck, no VC pitch, just a maker who realized LinkedIn's search is broken and fixed it. The kind of side project that makes you wonder why LinkedIn hasn't built this themselves.
