Our Take
DialogLab is a research project out of Google that tackles something every AI company will eventually have to face: group conversations. Most AI assistants today are built for one-on-one interactions—you talk, it responds. But real life doesn't work that way. DialogLab lets researchers author, simulate, and test dynamic human-AI group conversations where multiple humans and multiple AI agents are in the same thread, reacting to each other, building on each other's prompts, managing turn-taking, and handling the chaos that comes with three or more voices in a room.
Why does this matter? Because as AI agents start collaborating with each other and with humans in real workflows, you can't just test them in isolation. You need to stress-test how they handle interruptions, overlapping context, conflicting instructions, and social dynamics. DialogLab gives researchers the tooling to do exactly that—building the infrastructure for multi-agent AI systems before they become the standard. It's currently available as an open-source project on GitHub.
This one is still early—it's a research release, not a VC-backed startup withARR numbers yet. But if you're building multi-agent AI systems, this is probably the tool you'll need in six months. Keep an eye on it.
