What makes this interesting is they categorized it as devtools, which suggests they might be positioning FamZam as an API or embeddable solution for other apps rather than just aConsumer facing product. Bill splitting seems simple until you try to build it at scale, and keeping it ad-free and subscription-free means they're betting on a different business model entirely. Whether they're building this for developers to integrate into their own platforms or just using devtools to ship fast, the simplicity-first approach is the actual product. That's the thesis anyway—sometimes the best feature is what you leave out.
