Hacker News for macOS
A native macOS client for Hacker News, built with SwiftUI
Our Take
Five developers—Kimberly Ross, Piroune Balachandran, Dylan Ironside, Peter Shu, and Guy Antoine—looked at the hundreds of ways to read Hacker News and said "you know what we're missing? A proper native macOS app." So they built one. It's called Hacker News for macOS, it's built with SwiftUI, and it gives you the iconic Y Combinator news aggregator right in your desktop with that clean, native mac feel we've all been waiting for.
Is this a billion-dollar company? Probably not. Is it a damn nice app for developers who live in Terminal and browser tabs anyway? Absolutely. Sometimes you just want a clean, focused client that doesn't require a browser extension or a 47-browser-tab workflow. It's open source, it's free, and it just works.
