Our Take

This is literally a cheat code for anyone who wants to understand how the most powerful AI coding tools on the planet actually think. Some anonymous repo maintainer going by x1xhlol compiled the system prompts from over 27 AI coding assistants—including Cursor, Windsurf, Claude Code, Devin AI, Replit, v0, and a bunch of others—into one searchable repository. System prompts are the instruction sets that tell these AI models how to behave, what to prioritize, and how to format their outputs. They're essentially the DNA of these tools. And now they're all in one place.

This repo has been trending on GitHub because developers realized something uncomfortable: these $100+ billion dollar companies? Their "secret sauce" is just carefully written text files. Anyone can read them. Anyone can learn from them. The maintainer also included open-source models and internal tools, making this the most comprehensive collection of AI coding assistant "brain blueprints" available anywhere. It's been starred by thousands of developers who want to build their own AI coding tools—or just understand what makes Cursor feel so much better than raw Claude.

Here's the thing—system prompts are the most valuable intellectual property in AI right now, and this repo treats them like public library books. That's either incredibly generous or mildly unhinged, and either way it's exactly what the open source community needed. If you're building AI developer tools, this is your research lab.
