Teleport has been quietly building the plumbing that serious devops teams actually want — identity management for infrastructure that actually works, with short-lived credentials instead of those dreaded long-lived API keys everyone forgets to rotate until something embarrassing happens. The timing on this "AI agents" angle is interesting though: as AI systems start touching more production environments, the need for credential management with real audit trails suddenly gets a lot more urgent, and they've been solving this problem since 2015 so they might actually be early to a trend rather than chasing it. They've raised Series B+ from Accel which means the VCs think this is infrastructure worth owning — and honestly, when every company suddenly needs to give their AI agents permissions to production without losing their minds over security, Teleport being the answer to "how do we actually do that?" could turn out to be a very good position to be in.
